We Flipped the Switch!

When we were in Uganda in March, we had the thrill of seeing five of our buildings connected to the national power grid. The first night, we had a spontaneous dance party at the teacher’s quarters when one of the teachers plugged in his radio for the first time.

Paul, one of our first 17 kids, managed the connection process for us

Power has also improved the services of the clinic. Our lab is now equipped with a centrifuge machine, light box, and powered microscope for accurate lab testing. Power also allows us to provide ultrasound services through the clinic. Previously, there was only one other machine serving the 400,000 people in Kassanda District. Our own Nurse Pamela was able to do an ultrasound on herself to see her baby in the womb. A first in Kyakitanga!
