Reunion Camp

During the shut-down, our team welcomed the original small group of sponsored children to the mission house in the village for a two week "reunion camp." These kids are our HEED "pioneers," and they gathered to receive teaching, learn money-making skills, and give back to HEED. Of the original kids, two are in university, several are attending advanced level high school, some are in vocational training programs, and some are now working. The shut-down afforded a rare opportunity to bring them all back together, and it was powerful. We had a dynamic team from the Pilgrim Center for Reconciliation, an established East African Ministry who develop and empower leadership in kids.

These pioneer kids elected a leadership team from their group to lead in giving back to HEED through mentoring our younger children.

This is our hope and dream from Isaiah 61:3-4: "That they will become oaks of righteousness...and THEY will rebuild the ancient ruins and places long devastated." We are starting to see the ministry baton passing to some of our very own kids, and that is a beautiful thing!

Thank you to our faithful sponsors and scholarship program supporters for equipping the next generation!
